Syrian Family

”  It is has been four years since the Lutfi family, who fled the war in Syria,  arrived in Canada to be sponsored by our parish.  Three years ago they moved to Cobourg due to housing shortage in Bowmanville and also due to a job opportunity in Cobourg for the father.  Nael is still working with the same large plumbing firm and really likes his job.  Linda who is an excellent seamstress, is working for an interior design company where she sews beautiful curtains, drapes and valences.

Mira is a freshman at Georgian College in Barrie staying in residence and studying interior design.  She is very artistic.  Zaid is in grade 12 and is hoping to enroll at Durham College in an auto mechanics course in the fall.  Both children work part-time at Tim Hortons.  What a blessing it has been to sponsor this wonderful family.

Much gratitude to Father Craig and all of the generous parishioners at St. Joseph who helped them settle in  Bowmanville when they first arrived.
