Lent begins with Ash Wednesday on Wednesday, February 14th. Ash Wednesday derives its name from a practice believers have of receiving ashes on their foreheads in the shape of a cross. The act of receiving ashes and the accompanying words, “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return,” serve as a somber reminder of human mortality and the call to turn away from sin and embrace spiritual renewal during the Lenten season.
Mass with The Imposition of Ashes will be celebrated in our church at 8am and 7pm on February 14th.
