Mass for victims of cancer with the relics of St. Peregrine
On Monday, September 30th, the relics of St. Peregrine, the patron saint of cancer victims, will make a visit to St. Joseph Church. Directly or indirectly, we have all been touched by cancer. At 7pm, a Mass for healing will be offered in the presence of the relics. This Mass invites our community to unite in prayer for all those affected by the deadly disease. We know our Saviour offers spiritual healing and emotional peace and we entrust all who suffer to him through the intercession of St. Peregrine.
After the Mass, all are welcome to venerate the relics of St. Peregrine and receive a blessing. Catholics enduring cancer or any other disease that threatens life will also be welcome to receive the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be available from 6pm to 6:45pm on the same evening.

Truth and Reconciliation Day
On the two-year anniversary of Pope Francis’s penitential pilgrimage to Canada, the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB), in a “Letter to the People of God”, has provided an update on the steps that the Catholic Church in Canada has taken to respond to the Holy Father’s calls for a future of justice, healing, and reconciliation. It encourages Catholics across the country to continue to listen to and support residential school survivors and Indigenous communities on this journey.
The work of reconciliation is a journey. Let us pray that the works and efforts of our leaders truly help bring about the reconciliation we all long for.

Her simple spirituality, humility, and complete trust in God revolutionized the twentieth century. Over 100 years after her death, she continues to inspire millions of people, help them in their lives, and draw them closer to God.

St. Francis of Assisi: Sign of Contradiction
Francis was a person who, like us, searched for purpose and meaning and was oftentimes left empty. It wasn’t until he encountered Jesus Christ that his darkness and confusion were replaced with light and peace. When the world saw him as a fool, he stood as a sign of contradiction.
