    Synthesis Report from First Session

    In the late afternoon of Saturday 28 October 2023, the members of the XVI Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops released a synthesis report. This report is jsut one step along the Synodal path.

  • Clergy away for study

    Fr. Craig and Fr. Darlington will be away participating in the annual Clergy Study Days from November 7th to 9th. During that time, daily Mass will be available at St. Therese church in Courtice.

    The adoration chapel will be closed, Tuesday through Thursday.

    Winter Prep Day

    Winter is coming! Help our church get ready by coming to the winter preparation day on Saturday, November 11th from 10am to 2pm. On that day, we’ll prepare the grounds of our church for winter by tending gardens, cleaning up the outside, putting out salt bins, etc. There will be a break at 11am to observe Remembrance day and for lunch provided by the Knights of Columbus. Community service hours are offered for high school students.

  • Memorial Mass

    Each year in mid-November, St. Joseph’s Knights of Columbus Council 6361 celebrates a memorial Mass for Knights who have passed away. We invite spouses and families to join us on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at 9:00am.

  • Visit the relics of St. Andre Bessette

    St. Andre Bessette is the first Canadian living after Confederation to be canonized and a great many miracles of healing have been attributed to him. The saint was known especially for his devotion to St. Joseph and to caring for the sick.

    Normally, his relics reside at St. Joseph Oratory in Montreal, but on Tuesday, November 14th, his relics will be brought to our parish.

    6:00pm – Exposition of the relic of St. Andre Bessette and talks about the saint
    6:30pm – Eucharistic Adoration
    7:00pm – Holy Mass
    7:45pm – Veneration with the relic and anointing with the oil of St. Joseph

    All Souls’ Day Candlelight Vigil

    Let us pray together for all our deceased loved ones and commend their souls to our Lord. A candlelight vigil will be held on Thursday, November 2nd at 7pm.

    Last week, Bishop William T. McGrattan, President of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops released a letter about the recent esclation of conflict in the Holy Land to the Catholic Faithful in Canada.

  • Put all that leftover halloween candy to good use

    Donate your leftover halloween candy to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank.

    Your candy offerings will be added to the Christmas hampers that many depend on over the Christmas holidays.

    Donations can be left in the bin at the entrance of the church.

  • Pastoral Planning Goal One

    After a lenthy period of prayer, discussion and reflection, our bishop has released a Pastoral Plan to guide the parishes of our Diocese over the next few years though six goals. For the next four months, we will focus on the first goal: To reach out and engage all people with the message of the Gospel.

    It all begins with a discussion on Wednesday, November 1st at 6:30pm in the Columbus Hall.
    No need to sign up; those wishing the join the conversation need only show up.
