Ash Wednesday
We know we can drift from God at times, in big and small ways. We see this whenever we turn on the news, notice the effects of climate change or even encounter conflicts with our loved ones. Catholics place ashes on their foreheads on Ash Wednesday to mark a turning point. Through the works of the Saviour, we’re drawn back to God, the source of life and love.
Ash Wednesday is celebrated at our church on Wednesday, March 5th at 8am and 7pm.

World Day of Prayer Service
The invitation is out for everyone – women, men and children of all ages – to join the 2025 World Day of Prayer as we celebrate the theme: I made you wonderful. (Psalm 139: 1-18)
This years World Day of Prayer will be on March 7th at 1:00 PM, hosted at St. John’s Anglican Church in Bowmanville.
This event unites various Christian denominations in collective prayer for global welfare while promoting themes of unity and social justice. The focus for 2025 is Taiwan, highlighting the importance of prayers for peace, justice, reconciliation, and addressing local Taiwanese issues.
Light refreshments will be served following prayers.

Enjoy Your Retirement!
Laurie Greentree, with heartfelt delight,
We gather to honor you, shining so bright.
For over twenty-two years, you’ve filled our plates,
Three bishops, four pastors, and countless mates.Your kitchen was magic, where laughter would soar,
With meals made with love, we always wanted more.
You sang loud and proud, though the tune went astray,
Your joy was contagious, brightening our day.As you step into grandkids’ hugs, sweet and near,
Remember the warmth of those gathered here.
“I’m outta here!” you’d chuckle as you’d leave,
But your spirit will linger, in hearts we believe. So here’s to you, Laurie, with love and with cheer,
Thank you for the memories; we hold them quite dear.
May your new chapter shine, as joyous as thee,
For you’ve fed not just bodies, but souls tenderly. For over 22 years, Laurie has kept the clergy of our parish well fed, choosing now to enjoy a well-deserved retirement. As Laurie embarks on this new chapter, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for her years of service, creativity, and love. While she will be greatly missed in our kitchen, she promised not be a stranger and will undoubtedly continue to serve in our church. Thank you, Laurie, for everything you have done. Enjoy retirement!
With love from all of us!
