St. Joseph Church

St. Joseph Parish has been serving the Catholic community of Bowmanville since 1857. When our present church was built in 1958, seven of the eight stained glass windows were carefully moved from the original church on Church Street. The eighth window was generously donated by Knights of Columbus Council 2671 of Oshawa, completing the beautiful set of windows we enjoy today.

Take a few moments before or after Mass to tap your smartphone on the sticker located on the side of each window frame. No camera or QR code scanner is needed. You’ll discover the symbolism, and meaning behind each beautiful stained glass window and gain a deeper appreciation of our parish’s rich heritage.

A heartfelt thank you to Fr. Craig, who created the stickers and thoughtfully prepared this fascinating information for all of us to enjoy.
