Travellers depend on waymarks to point the way and the same is true for those on a faith journey. Thankfully, God offers waymarks to guide and affirm those who seek his love. Through affirmation, prayer and faith exploration, participants take a moment to deliberately seek out God’s waymarks as they navigate the journey of life and faith. There are no commitments, requirements or pre-requisites; all that’s needed is a desire to grow in applying faith to daily living.
Waymark typically takes place on Wednesday evenings in the Columbus Hall
This fall, we explore the connection between faith and mental health through “The Sanctuary Course”. One in four people will be affected by a mental health problem at some point in their lives, yet the stigma surrounding mental illness silences many and prevents faith communities from responding compassionately and effectively. These eight discussions explore the realities of mental health and illness as well as the vital role faith and community play in healing. The discussions are accompanied by short compelling films that feature stories of Catholics living with mental health challenges, along with insights of archbishops, theologians, and psychologists. This is for those hoping to connect faith with mental health healing, for those looking to increase their own understanding and for those interested in building communities that accompany and support the mental health of all.
