Sacred Heart Holy Hour
Sacred Heart Holy Hour
For centuries, devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus has been central in the life of Christians, focusing on the divine love of our Saviour expressed in the familiar human qualities of the heart. When we think of the human heart, we call to mind the admirable qualities of love and devotion, as well as courage, faithfulness and sacrifice. When we think of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we see all these virtues and many others raised to perfection. At the same time, the image of the Sacred Heart is not intimidating; rather, it draws us toward itself. Though perfect, Our Lord’s heart remains a human heart, and an accessible bridge between God and humanity.
On Friday, January 16th at 7pm in the church, all are invited to a Holy Hour. In the presence of Jesus, disciples will reflect on the Sacred Heart, seek his mercy and give him praise.

Communion Ministry at Mass
Communion Ministry at Mass
During celebrations with a large number of worshippers, a pastor may invite properly prepared lay individuals to assist in the distribution of Holy Communion. These men and women are like extensions of the hands of the celebrant in the task of bringing the nourishment of our Saviour to all who come to receive Him in Holy Communion. At our parish, these ministers are essential in enhancing our worship and ensuring that Jesus is offered to all.
This is an easy way for someone to serve our community, requiring the minister only to arrive at the church five minutes early when scheduled and to join in the occasional training workshop.
Want to help out? See Fr. Craig after Mass or send Hailu an email.

Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
there is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling. (Ephesians 4:4)
For one week each January, Christians reflect on the desire of Jesus who prayed that his disciples would remain united through him. During this week, Christians celebrate our common Baptism and pray for unity, for the removal of all that divides disciples. Observing the spirit of the Week of Prayer of Christian Unity, all Christians are invited to an Ecumenical Prayer Service:
🗓️ Friday, January 23rd at 7pm

Santo Niño Feast, Novena and Potluck
Santo Niño Feast, Novena and Potluck
Since the 16th century, Christians all over the world have given praise to the Santo Niño, the Holy Child Jesus. This feast commemorates how Jesus, even as a child, accepted the mission of the Father: he was loved, persecuted, obedient and ready to serve his people. This feast encourages all to take on a child-like trust in the Father, his plan, power and love. Several miracles have been connected to images of the Child Jesus. Learn about some of these miracles here.
The feast begins with a novena on Friday, January 16th and concludes with Mass, a procession and potluck dinner on Saturday, January 24th.

Waymark
Waymark
A waymark is a sign, marker or symbol that helps guide. A waymark may prevent someone from getting lost, may indicate an important milestone or give assurance. Those on a journey depend on waymarks to point the way. The same is true for those on a faith journey. God offers waymarks to guide and affirm those who seek his love. Through videos, readings and discussion, both at home and in person, participants in Waymark take a moment to deliberately seek out God’s waymarks. Waymark is for:
- Anyone curious about the Catholic faith or wonder about becoming Catholic.
- Catholics who wish to receive their First Communion or receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.
- Catholics who simply wish to know more about or renew their faith.
